Wizard Entertainment’s “Anaheim Comic Con” Pop Culture Expo Debuts At Anaheim Convention Center April 16-18, 2010

Wizard Entertainments Comic Con, North Americas largest pop-culture touring expo, will debut in Southern California with a three-day run at Anaheim Convention Center, Friday through Sunday, April 16-18, 2010. The Anaheim Comic Con will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and more than 150 celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop culture movies, comics, toys, video gaming, television, anime, manga, horror, wrestling, MMA, original art, collectibles, contests, movie screenings, and more.

Anaheim Comic Con will make history with a rare reunion of Batman, Robin, Catwoman and the original Batmobile; delighting event-goers with a rare opportunity to meet actors Adam West, Burt Ward, Julie Newmar, and Lee Meriwether at their first appearance together in more than fifteen years. Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with Star Trek legend William Shatner; Verne Troyer (Austin Powers); Steven Bauer (Scarface); Larissa Gomes (Saw VI and Resident Evil: Apocalypse); Ed Asner; Tia Carrere; Lori Petty (Tank Girl), and cast members from pop-culture classics including the SAW movie series, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, X-Men, Iron Man, Star Trek, Dark Knight, Seinfeld, etc., as well as industry professionals including comic book and motion picture icon Stan Lee, Director Irvin Kershner (Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back); Avi Arad (Iron Man, Spider-Man); J.C. Spink (The Hangover, Preacher, Y: The Last Man); Adrian Askarieh (Hitman, Hack/Slash, Jonny Quest); Daniel Baldwin, and many more.

Children and adult attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for the chance to win special prizes in daily costume contests. Event-goers may also try their hand at games and interactive product exhibits by trend-setting brands such as Xbox, Ubisoft, Microsoft, THQ, EA Sports, Disney Interactive, LEGO, Nintendo, and Warner Bros.; shop for collectible comics, movie and television memorabilia, toys, games and more; and experience the shows Horror Pavilion dedicated to writers, artists, musicians, and actors well known in that genre.

Sanctioned trading card gaming tournaments for THQs YuGiOh, Pokemon, World of Warcraft, and Magic the Gathering will take place throughout the weekend offering casual and competitive players the opportunity to win valuable prizes and increase their rankings. Additionally, event- goers are invited to bring their own short films to the expo, and enter the NYC Horror Film Festival’s Killer Short Sudden Death Competition. Winners will be inducted into the NYC Horror Film Festival program later this year. And, on Saturday, April 17 at 7:00pm, Wizard Entertainment will treat event-goers to a special advance screening of “The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!” the first animated film based on the “Drawn Together” series.

Anaheim Comic Con is the first and only Southern California stop on Wizards 12-city North American tour. Doors open Fri., April 16 at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Saturday hours are 10:00 am until 7:00 pm, and hours on Sunday are 10:00 am until 5:00 pm (all times pacific). Adult single-day tickets are $ 25; three-day tickets are $ 45, and tickets are free for children age ten and under when accompanied by a paid adult (limit two children per adult).
