Celebrate! Napa Valley, July 3-7, in Calistoga, is an opportunity to sample the culture of the wine country in a casual festival setting. With a focus on food, wine and art, the celebration is held at the Napa County Fair & Fireworks and includes an All American 4th of July with a spectacular fireworks display.
“Celebrate! Napa Valley is a place you can come with the entire family, but still experience what Napa has to offer. Napa County is rich with the finest wine grapes and wine makers in the nation, fine olive oils, artists, photographers, and a culture of fresh food prepared both at home and in wonderful restaurants,” explains Carlene Moore, CEO. “It is a family event with plenty of free activities for the kids, while parents and grandparents can still enjoy a glass of wine.”
Visitors can relax in the Wine Pavilion with a glass of one Napa Valley’s fine wines or attend the Reds, Whites, & Blues tasting event on Friday. There’s time to stroll among the vintners from the valley and sip a wide variety of the offerings, while enjoying the festival atmosphere and blues guitarist Maxx Cabello, Jr.
In the Napa Valley Building, fine art and photography will be exhibited and available for purchase. Strolling around the Fairgrounds visitors will find artists demonstrating their talents and in the Art Center everyone is invited to create their own Make & Take art project.
Also in the Napa Valley Building, there are chef showcases, olive oil tastings, and more. The Fair’s Napa Valley Olive Oil competition attracted more than 100 entries from California and the Best of Show are on-hand. Daily culinary contests give any home cook the chance to show off their skills with cupcakes, brownies, and apple pie to salsa and guacamole. Anyone can enter the friendly competition.
The Firehouse BBQ Challenge on Saturday in partnership with the American Red Cross is an opportunity to sample your way through grilled chicken, ribs and tri-tip with country artists, the Chris Gardner Band playing in The Grove. The friendly competition will benefit firefighter associations in Napa County.
Of course you can still get your once-a-year Fair food and climb aboard a carnival ride, not necessarily in that order! But if you think you’ve seen all there is at a County Fair, you should check out Celebrate! Napa Valley at the Napa County Fair & Fireworks in Calistoga, July 3-7.
